The client produces proprietary components for furniture manufacturing—a sector that demands solutions tailored to diverse products. Their challenge was introducing a new product while improving production of its predecessor in the same product family.
They also needed to assemble a high volume of components within a short cycle, pushing capacity beyond existing limits. Previously, assembly happened at multiple separate stations, each requiring a different operator; with only manual labor available, they needed a stronger, higher-throughput solution to meet market demand.
Solution
Every solution is tailored to the client’s specific needs, and this project was no different.
To maximize line efficiency, we designed a compact station built on an eight-position rotary table.
It performs four riveting operations and two product inspections. The required throughput was achieved by using two operator stations where components are loaded into the assembly nests. This approach doesn’t eliminate people entirely but supports them effectively.
